Can Kerry Make the Net Work?
David Weinberger (who, I'm delighted to inform/remind readers, contributed to the book I co-authored, Making the Net Work, £12.25 from Amazon blah blah blah...) posts a transcript of a speech the John Kerry has made this week on innovation and technology.
I have a feeling that Kerry has a bit of track record in promoting technology, though I can't remember for the life of me why. What I know he does have is an interest in sustainable development. That said, I'll admit, his example of can-do spirit is that old entrepreneurial favourite Lee Iacocca of Chrysler.
However, put the technology and sustainability together and you could have someone in the White House making the kind of links we made in Making the Net Work: a mechanism that uses technology to create the environment in which sustainability could flourish. A little wishful? But of course. Still, one has to dream.
Anyone able to give me the postal address of one of his policy advisors? ;-)
